Linnea Lockwood - Gambino |
Linnea has been designing wearable art for about 10
years. She attended SUNY
Westchester in Valhalla, NY where she was an honor student in Applied Art.
She has won numerous awards and competitions for her designs and
illustrations over the past 20 years even an International Award for designing
miniature Art on fingernails. She designed print ads and greeting cards for clients such as
Pepsi Cola, Quantum Technology and SUNY Westchester. She recently received a Merit Award for her designs at the
2003 Artsplosure Festival in Raleigh, NC and she is also a finalist in the
national competition, “Bead
Dreams” which is sponsored by
Bead & Button Magazine. Look

In 1993 Linnea opened Grand Street Bead Company in Croton-On-Hudson, NY and before moving to North Carolina Sold the store in late 1997 to her best customer, Jill Decrenza. The business grew and several years ago Jill moved the store to a new location expanding the retail space to 5 times the original size and changing the name to reflect the new location to Beyond Beads. Additionally in 2000 Jill and her sister Kim became partners and now own and operate the business together. Please check out their website by simply clicking on the link above!
About the Jewelry:
Her
work is all original and completely done by hand. She has designed several popular lines of jewelry that are
available at specialty stores and at Arts and Crafts shows in the North Carolina
and New York area.
She uses only the finest materials in
her work including specialty lamp work beads, semi-precious stones, vintage
buttons, Swarovski crystal, pewter buttons, sterling silver and gold-filled
findings. Many of the beads and
treasures that she weaves into each piece have stories of their own and are
gathered from around the world.
